DSA and University
Meet David, Uni Student.
David's dyslexia made him struggle to research texts and produce written assignments. He found that long pieces of text in course reading materials made him feel tired and reduced his concentration. It was so hard to remember the subject matter.
David now uses SprintPlus with all of his written work. He can now scan course work materials and listen to the text in those materials being read out to him. He is now absorbing information faster than before and it is less tiring for him. David checks the grammar and the spelling quality of his written work by having it read out to him, with visual highlights for homophone checking and the use of phonetic word prediction.
David is on target to get his degree and focuses more on what he can acheive than what dyslexia makes it difficult for him to do.
‘As an assessor, I know that I can have a student using SprintPlus within ten minutes. This gives me time to make sure that the rest of the session is focused on how the student wants to use it.’
