  • PDF and scanner

    • I cannot read my PDF document in SprintPlus

This is probably because you have opened a photo PDF. There is no text available in such documents. The latests versions of Sprint PDF will display the following message: 'There's no text information in this document. Please use OCR to make this document readable.'

To check for text in a PDF document use the function key F7. After pressing F7 coloured character indicators will outline the text information. If not, there is no text in your document and it will not be read by Sprint. Press F7 to make the outline disappear.

If there is not text in your document, you will need to use OCR software to convert the photo PDF to a readable text PDF.

    • What is OCR?

OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, in other words text recognition software.

Scanning a document can be compared to making a picture of this document. This picture (or image) does not contain any text. The OCR software will recognize the text in the image and convert the scanned document into a document containing readable digital text.

    • What do I need to scan a document?

Besides a scanner you also need OCR software. Most scanners are delivered with OCR software. If you do not have OCR software, you can opt for the SprintOCR module (optional).
